today started out with a meeting for Faith's Keiki Steps program, which eases kindergarteners into the whole elementary school scene and schedule. it is a free program, and they get free snacks. it runs from 8am-12pm. she LOVES being back in school!!! and it is so nice to have such a short drive - what a difference that makes in the morning!!!
then i had to pull her out early for her annual cardiologist appointment at kapiolani medical center. last year Doug dropped us off, so today was my first time driving there myself. did i ever mention how i HATE driving in town when i don't know exactly how to get to my destination? well, i do. so, i take a wrong turn (despite following my printed mapquest directions) and end up going in circles for a bit, sweating -- i had to drive the small, air-condition-less car because the FJ is too tall for the parking structure there (as we learned from our last appointment...), but we finally get there. in the nick of time. all went well, she had an echo and whatnot and she is all good. she still has a heart murmur, which is common, but they don't think it's getting worse. they say that Faith doesn't even need to take antibiotics prior to dental work. she was great. so was Malik. tomorrow is the appointment where they both need to get a shot, or two. not looking forward to that...
then after that we went to Costco. they crashed in the car on the way home. i wanted to, too.
i cannot believe summer is almost over. it seemed like it was three whole months long when i was a youngun...
