Happy Birthday to Malik!!!

On his real birthday, we sang happy birthday and had a little cake and ice cream at home.  On a later date, we had a combined birthday party for him and his cousin Alexis.  They both turned 6.  Time is flying by!

Labor Day:

lately, if we're at the beach, this is what they look like

Faith's little 7th birthday shindig:

kept it simple and used what fabric and knick-knacks we had for decor
(mom - that tablecloth is that stretchy lace material you gave me - i didn't know what to use it for aside
from some kind of halloween costume, but it came in handy for today)

faith invited some neighbor friends over for lemonade, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls
and other snacks to celebrate miss faith turning 7 tomorrow!

the cake i pinned on pinterest - i didn't have the right frosting tip and overlapped some "flowers",
but it tasted good despite what it looked like

my newly-six year old!!!

it's been too long since my last post.  our lovely vacation came to an end and we jumped right back into the school routine.  malik started preschool, faith is now a first-grader, and mama got a part-time job.  we've been busy busy.  we celebrated daddy's birthday and faith just turned 6!!! 

we spent the day celebrating at the beach with our little family and aunty alohi.  for lunch we got acai bowls and faith's favorite crunchy chicken.  then we went to uncle ryan's house to play some more in the pool and on the beach.  we sang happy birthday to the birthday girl and devoured some delicious made-from-scratch raw pie.  then we did a family stand-up-paddle around the corner to kawela bay as the sun began to set.  it was a very fun, relaxing day.  and some of the first pictures i took since being back in the islands. 

thank you grandmas and grandpas and aunties and uncles for the birthday wishes and gifts!! 

and happy birthday to uncle aaron, too!!!  hope it was awesome!!!

on tsunami tsaturday, my little mister turned 4.

i had planned out a party for him and several of his little friends, but it just wasn't gonna happen.

after everything settled down, we sang happy birthday as a family and let him open his presents from family.

thank you for all of the clothes, legos, and games!!!

yesterday, his postponed party was on!!!

we invited some friends over and made pirate hats,

ate some snacks and cupcakes,

got our faces painted (thank you sooo much, nicole!!!),

played 'pin the spout on the whale',

and 'fished' for some goody bags.
