a season of change
it's new year's eve and we'd like to wish everyone a
H A P P Y
N E W
Y E A R ! ! !
we hope that 2009 is good to you all, us included! spent the day at my parents' empty, beautiful home (that is on the market). the kids (mostly faith and angela) popped some firecrackers. then the smoke got really bad, dead winds here. i look forward to the new year as a time of growth for our little family. the remnants of my immediate family will move away next monday. doug will be in search of a new job. i'm hoping for a better economy. and wanting the rain here to let up so the sun can work its magic and dry some things out. i am grateful for how blessed we are, in spite of it all. we are healthy, for the most part. and we have a home, warm beds to sleep in, family and friends that love and care for us, food to eat, we have peace in our part of the world, cars to drive, the lovely ocean to swim in, clothes -- truly blessed. and i know that all will be well. i know that the gospel is true. that is a comfort and joy. we hope the best for you all this coming year!!!

Liko, i'm not that far away, i wish i could go to the beach with you guys. Those days were the best when you guys staid with me when mom them were up here with Alohi. It was fun spending time with your family, i miss you guys. We should make it a goal to meet up in Alaska this year. I'm aiming for July. I read this quote, it was from this catalogue but it was cool, nevertheless. It went like this: Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work, hope, fidelity, liberality, kindess, rest, prayer, meditaiton, and one well selected solution, put in about one teaspoonful of good, a pinch of folly, sprinkle of play, and a cupful of good humor. Love you man, if you ever wanna talk you know my number. We should write each other once a week to keep in touch, i don't wanna be one of those families that don't comunicate and know all the nitty gritty going down all over the place.
