a first

for me, anyway. all my years living here in hawaii and this is the first time they are having a 'wind' day. tomorrow there will be no school. cancelled due to the horrid winds that are supposed to strike tonight through tomorrow. the windward side (our side) will bear the brunt of it. i am guessing it will be similar to the very strong winds that hit us earlier this year (was it earlier this year or last year?? i cannot remember the exact date) that left heavy debris from the trees all over the highway. i remember seeing the aftermath and all the damage: several fallen trees, and a HUGE mango tree had fallen over in Kahalu'u, smashing a divider fence between two properties, as well as all the branches on the roads. let's pray it doesn't leave too much damage in its wake.

crazy huh? that they would cancel school? My mother in law, who works for the city, even cancelled work.

I think we will be well protected in Kaaawa. The mountain range is so close to us that it will block everything from the west.

this is off of the subject but i was thinking that if you don't mind, if we just did the book club thing at your place instead of combining it.? just cause 1)i don't want people to feel obligated to come to the pampered chef thing or spend money if they don't want to. and 2) i really want to see your house.
is that ok? if it is easier for you we can combine the two that is fine with me. it is your month and so you get to decide.
also, thanks for choosing that book. i am not done yet but i have really enjoyed it so far.
