It's been a bit nippy in these parts...

especially last night and today, too. grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, nieces, and cousins -- we miss you all so much! the kids have been saying that they miss people, some days it's papa, another day it's grandma chris, and then angela, or uncle ryan, or kalei. you each have your turn at being missed. i tell them we will see you all again sometime, and that you all miss them, too, and love them very much. we've been going to the park, riding scooters, bikes, tricycles, wagons, playing at the beach (when it's warm enough), going to check on the house, cleaning and organizing our own home, searching for employment, going to preschool, potty-training, trying to sew, going diving, nurturing our ever-growing container garden (i stole the green onions, dad) -- various things.
on a funny note: malik likes to call saimin (ramen) "octopus feelings". i think it has to do with makana making him touch the tentacles and suckers. he repeats the phrase, "i'm eating octopus feelings", throughout his entire consumption of the noodles.
malik is also getting bigger and a little more chunky (i will be sad when his cheeks aren't so full anymore), while faith is getting so tall and lean. i wish i could have them stay this way, small and sweet, forever. they like to play together a lot, and most of the time they get along. i like to listen in on their conversations, they are very bright and a lot of the things they say make me laugh because it seems to be beyond their age to put those thoughts together or be able to verbalize in the way that they do sometimes. me and doug have been enjoying the time we have with them together these days.
love you all!

isn't it so sad when your kids say they miss people? it always makes me feel bad that we can't be with all the people we love all the time!
