i'm still alive...

i spoke in sacrament today...and lived to tell about it. hehe. that pretty much sums up my feelings on public speaking. when i first got up there, my heart was racing and i could feel my throat getting tight and dry. but then i looked at my outline, went with the spirit, made sure to make eye contact with the eyeballs on me every once in a while, remembered to breathe, and trekked through it. it's been YEARS since i last gave a talk. it was when the young single adults had to do either a mother's or father's day program. you know, back in the day when i was a young, single adult and my talk only had to be 5 minutes long -- at most. so, that's why it was kind of a big deal for me today. i know, some of you guys and gals are accustomed to speaking in church/public, no big deal. it's become so commonplace you don't even get nervous anymore, right? i'm hoping i will get to that point. eventually. with time.

thank you, doug, for coming, and watching the kids. and me. and for saying that i did "such a good job! it was perfect!".

i love you.

hope you all had a very happy sabbath.

good job! I get soooo nervous anytime I have to speak, which is not very often.

good job liko! if i would have known i would have come to listen.
i get nervous too, but then again i haven't spoken since i was a young single adult so i kinda don't remember but i can imagine what it feels like and how i would react if/when i get asked.

way to go! great that doug could come too! unfortunately, we get asked to speak all, and i mean all, the time. i guess it's good that i don't really mind it, otherwise my heart would have failed me already.

Liko you are so brave. I hate public speaking. Church talks are even worse cause that sneaky Spirit can come and surprise you at any time and make you cry. Crying in public? Not my thing.

So what time can I put you down for sure on Friday night/morning? The Relay for Life people want me to kind of make a schedule for our walkers. Let me know.
