i find it an adventure to go and browse thrift stores for vintage treasures i can use (not to hoard). years ago, i cannot recall if i thrifted this with my mother in law or if she gave it to me from her stash. it's Corning Ware from the 70's -- a 3-quart Country Festival (the name of the design, produced from 1975-1977) casserole dish with a pyrex cover, to be exact. you can bake in it AND it's microwave-safe. kinda cute, don't you think?
today i happened to be in kailua with Malik (who is sick {from Faith, who is now better} with a fever -- i'm thinking it's the flu. i hate feeling helpless when my babies are sick.). while there, we decided to make a quick stop into Salvation Army. soon after walking through the door, i saw this sitting pretty on the shelf:
it's an 8 x 8 x 2" baking dish in the same design (and made the same year) as my casserole dish!
SCORE!!!
i absolutely LOVE it!
