we fell asleep last night knowing there was a tsunami warning as a result of the big earthquake in chile. i was prompted to wake at 4a.m. and turned on the t.v. to see what the latest news was. then our hometeacher called to check on us and make sure we knew what was going on. our plan was to stay close to home, so we decided to climb the mountain by our house.
it ended up being more like high and low tide with the surges coming and going. we climbed the steep ridge at the top of our hill, got some sun, watched whales breach, ate some chocolate, and had a spectacular view! it was a memorable fourth birthday for malik, that's for sure! and it was good preparation for the next one.

Sheesh! I've been thinking about you Hawaiians. I'm glad it didn't amount to too much. Sounds like it was a super fun day instead.

We were sure praying hard for Hawaii yesterday, glad that not much happened and everyone is safe. Your pictures and the views are gorgeous.
cool pictures! glad to see some proof since we were too far for a good view and no where near a tv in case anyone was filming!
