interlude
from our vacation photos.
well, we got back monday, august 2, and BAM! school started for the kids. yep.
so...with malik in preschool, he'll be needing to pack a home lunch daily.
it's been a while since i've sewn, so i'm excited about making a lunch bag for my boy.
i think i'll make one for faith, too, while i'm at it.
i wanted to use oilcloth for easy cleanup, but i came across these vinyl-coated cotton prints by michael miller.
i think the mermaids are fitting for my own little fish girl and malik is all about cars (plus i let them choose and these are their choices).
sadly, i still use plastic grocery bags. Here's an attempt at me being a little more eco-friendly.
when i'm done sewing them i will post a picture.
promise.
maybe i'll even have some extra of the mermaid print to make a beach bag for myself...we shall see...

where'd you get your fabric? let me guess...the MAINLAND? what is the difference between vinyl cotton and plain old vinyl?
i saw those at fabric mart and was thinking of doing the exact same thing.
let me know how it goes for you and maybe you can teach me how to do it too.
What a great idea! I love the prints!
