setting the mood for Halloween with our first of the month storytime picks.
what are your favorite Halloween children's reads?
when i was younger, i remember enjoying these:
we saw the ghosts in the house on friday and i LOVED the illustrations! funny you should ask, because we were totally in borders just so i could try and find the candy witch- my all time FAVE when i was little!
"...Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children, and others throughout the generations."

We love Little Witch's Big Night by Deborah Hautzig. Very cute. We'll have to see if out library has any of those books.
Oh yeah, and the Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree is a good one, but not sure if it's really a Halloween book, though.
In a Dark, Scary Room/Girl with the Blue Ribbon (or whatever it was called) - freakiest of all time for me!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED In a dark dark room too!
