father's day

technically, i didn't forget about father's day - despite my lack of a post. it was just that my dad and my husband were both absent on the day meant to honor them. doug was on kauai and my dad is in d.c. so, in honor of father's day, me and my two kiddos headed over to grandmas for a sleepover. it was great!! we all had a lot of fun! we spent monday and tuesday heading to the beach and getting some sun and refreshing swim-time. it was all about the girls and it was nice to spend time together before everyone leaves. we also stopped at ted's for some treats, and we thought about the dads in our lives as we savored them. that's gotta count for something, right? just as a little tribute, i would like to admit that my dad is the best dad on the whole planet. i love him so much and am grateful for his example throughout my life. he is perfect in my eyes. and doug is such a good dad to our kids. he is their big playmate and they love all the adventures they get to experience with him. i am grateful for, and love, them both. hooray for dads!!!
