me and doug left for the hospital this morning at 4:45am. i read captain blood til his same-day shoulder surgery was through, and the nurses made sure he came off of the anesthesia okay. now we are home, and grandma chris (so glad she's here) is playing with the kids and running errands while i tend to doug in his healing process (which, at this point, consists mainly of napping together and getting food for him).

how nice to have grandma there to help. hope the shoulder heals quick. the waves are coming, he's gonna need a good strong shoulder.
