balls

some fabric beach balls that i made for miss gwen, who turned 1 today.

next project: those Easter eggs i posted about a while ago...

and i looked through martha's craft encyclopedia and have decided i won't be purchasing it (i saw it at borders for half-off the list price {$35} which makes it cheaper there than costco). most of the projects require materials that would be too expensive for me right now. those of you who do add it to your library, post pics of your projects, please! if only crafting materials were FREE...*sigh*

yeah that seems to be the martha way unfortunately. a friend of mine asked me if i wanted to share this subscription with her- like two subscriptions for the price of one and i did it... but mostly i just find myself leafing through it saying... "will anyone actually cook this? who has THAT ingredient in their kitchen? or THAT one? and who has even heard of THAT?" but it is nice to look through and get inspired anyway.

hehe, steph -- do you recall the bittersweet homemade frosting i made for the first batch of malik's cupcakes i complained about(that i spared you all from consuming?)?? uh huh, that was all martha. i learned my lesson. and so far in my culinary experience, the most delectable things i make are the simplest with basic ingredients.
i do love her crafty/decorating ideas, but she shouldn't do cuisine. it may LOOK good, but COME ON, it's gotta TASTE good, too.
(sorry if i any of you disagree...)
