bo-ring

my blog is so sporadic. not many pictures going on. me and the kids have been hanging, cruising, playing - trying to stay cool in this absurd heat. but that's why we love it here, isn't it? went to see 'ice age: dawn of the dinosaurs' yesterday. it's funny. the kids loved it and i laughed a lot, too.
oh, and i am sooo looking forward to this weekend. doug has a 3-day weekend and we're planning on having a day at the beach on saturday, complete with barbecue. and then we'll top off the night sprawled on the golf course at turtle bay to enjoy the fireworks. yay!!! i promise i will take my camera and post the pictures. i just miss my family, those we regularly spend holidays with. diminished numbers = less noise and laughing.
faith can't stop talking about saturday and the fireworks and firecrackers. she loves them. we've been going to see them every year now. when i was still an itty-bitty girl, turtle bay would have a show every year and i remember having picnics and sitting and watching the show when it got dark...until that one year when one of the technicians blew his hand off, or something of that nature. and then they questioned safety and discontinued the fireworks altogether. you had to go to ala moana or aloha tower (after is was built, of course). when i was in college they finally got around to putting a fireworks show on again. and i'm glad they have something for us country folk out here to enjoy.
what are you all gonna do for Independence Day?
have a happy Fourth of July!!!

Maybe next year, you can join us on the Mighty Mo. We got there every year and sit on the ship and watch the firecrackers, have a potluck and enjoy everyone's company. Alexis loves it. Hopefully I can take some good pictures for my scrapbook.

We went to turtle bay the past 2 years and loved it. Its not crazy crowded either. One year we went down to ala moana {that is what I am used to}. We thought we got the best seat in the house on the beach. Then when they started they were popping right behind a bunch of trees. bummer. we had to move fast.
