beach fridays in may:

i think we'll just park by ke iki beach (near the beach access directly across from sunset beach christian school) and start and end our bike path walk there (that way we can swim right after the walk and not have to walk back to our cars at shark's cove). you can find parking on ke iki road or along the highway, just make sure not to park in a 'no parking' zone. carpool if you can, because parking might be hard to come by! f.y.i. there are no showers or bathrooms (if you have empty milk or juice gallon containers you can fill those up with water and keep them in your car so you and the kids can rinse off in warm water after your beach day -- if you're the type that NEEDS to shower off). and there are no trees close to the shoreline, so if you have a beach umbrella, bring it! and water. and the ocean gets deep quick (like sunset and waimea) so bring any floatation devices you may have for the keiki (such as boogie boards and whatnot). those who want to walk the bike path meet around 8:30 a.m. and if not, then join us at the beach there about 9:30-ish. yay! see you there! and bring sunscreen!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!
(and if the weather happens to be crappy on a beach friday, it's totally up to you whether you still want to go or not -- some of us prefer to stay indoors on those days.)
