we really love the weekends because that translates into family time!
today there were itty-bitty waves on the north shore so we headed that way, prepared with board.
we ended up at rocky point. daddy and art went for a short surf session and we had seats front and center in the lovely beachpool. the sun was super intense. the short walk from the shade to where we set up our beach umbrella was scorching! even with our slippers on we managed to burn our toes and feet on the burning hot sand! we made a note to keep our sun exposure to a minimum.
the kids, stacia and i had fun laying and cooling off in the beach pool. of course i forgot my camera. we had the body board and the kids were standing up and balancing on it. we even ran into meg, corbin, and happy little indie!
then we headed up to pupukea to art and stacia's house for some lunch and more play time. it was a lovely, sunny day. the kids ran around, jumped on the trampoline, painted and got tired. we left to go and watch the sunset on the beach.
it was a perfect day.
the kids are tuckered out and so are we!! and those beach pools make doug so happy! it's pretty funny to see how excited they make him -- i think he loves them so much because the kids have such a great time!! we got a little more sun than we should've, some of us are glowing red on our cheeks and shoulders, but we had a great saturday.
